MEIKE AUPPERLE VIOLA 2019

Meike is a violin maker based in Hanover, Germany. Her professional journey began at the highly acclaimed school for instrument making in Mittenwald, where she studied with Ulrich Hinsberger. Before opening her own workshop in 2018, Meike worked in several different workshops around the world, including Florian Leonhard in London and Sam Zygmuntowicz in New York. Working with these contemporary masters of violin making helped her to develop her own personal approach: combining her admiration for the old masters with accuracy and dedication to a new violin's every detail, Meike reaches for the finest in playability, look, and sound.

Meike regularly attends the violin making and acoustics workshop in Oberlin, organized by the VSA – a very precious way for her to develop and continue the journey with colleagues and friends from all over the world.
